Fire protection compositions are chemical substances or mixtures of substances that prevent the spread of fire and increase the resistance of structures to the effects of fire.
Fire retardants contain special additives called flame retardants. In general, flame retardants reduce the combustibility of materials by physically blocking the spread of fire or by initiating a chemical reaction that slows or stops the combustion process.
Fire retardant composition KMD metal ECO
Description
The fireproofing composition KMD on metal is a one-component paste-like opaque white water-based material.
The constituents of the composition provide a high level of plasticity, adhesion to the protected surfaces and excellent decorative properties of the ready-made fireproofing coating.
Production of flame retardant composition KMD on metal is carried out using modern technological equipment that allows to produce products with stable characteristics. The quality of the product is thoroughly controlled at all stages of production, starting with inspection of raw materials and ending with acceptance tests conducted in the production laboratory.
Fireproofing composition KMD on metal forms after application a thin coating of white colour that does not change the profile of the processed metal surface. The resulting fireproof coating retains its working (fire protective, adhesive, decorative) properties for at least 20 years.
Main parameters and characteristics
Fire protection composition KMD-O-Metal Plus
Today, the use of fireproof plaster mixes is one of the most common ways to protect load-bearing building structures from the effects of fire. The compositions are dry bulk mixtures based on gypsum-cement binder with the addition of special functional components. This method of fire protection is very effective and economical, especially for large objects.
KMD-O-METAL PLUS dry flame retardant composition for metal is designed to perform flame retardant coatings on the elements of metal building structures in order to protect them from fire. It is a dry bulk mixture based on gypsum-cement binder on the basis of gypsum and alumina cement, containing functional additives. The composition is used for application on surfaces that are accessible for inspection and rework and not directly exposed to climatic factors and chemically aggressive media.
According to the classification of fire retardants according to STB 11.03.02, Section 4, the composition applies to plasters intended for use in unheated rooms. The adhesion strength of the coating to the substrate is not less than 0.2 MPa.
To increase the strength of adhesion to the substrate flame retardant plaster KMD-O-METALL PLUS must be used in conjunction with adhesion primer KMD-O-KONTACT. To reinforce the flame retardant coating formed by the plaster, the KMD-O-FINISH impregnation must be applied.
Main parameters and characteristics
KMD-O-1 fire retardant composition
KMD-O-1 composition is intended for industrial and civil construction, where it is required by applicable construction standards and fire safety regulations to provide fire retardant properties in accordance with GOST 16363, as well as for coloring effect (as agreed with the customer).
Fireproofing composition KMD-O-1 can be used on the woodwork and constructions, intended for operation at the objects of I-V classes of service conditions as per GOST 20022.2, and at additional protection of the treated surfaces with the paints of XB-784 type compatible with it, it can be used at the objects of I-X classes of service conditions.
The use of flame retardant composition KMD-O-1 is advisable in places that are easily accessible for re-treatment and not affected by damp and aggressive environments.
The composition requires no additional preparation during fire protection works and can be applied to the protected surface by brush, roller or spraying. The required consumption is achieved in 3-4 times. The composition dries in normal temperature conditions for 2 days, after which, if necessary, protective varnishes are applied to achieve protection against weathering and maintain the texture of the material.
If necessary, the composition is supplied with a dye to provide a control toning of the treated surface.
Main parameters and characteristics
Fire retardant composition KMD-O-2
KMD-O-2 composition is intended for industrial and civil construction, where it is required in accordance with applicable construction norms and fire safety regulations to provide fire protection properties in accordance with GOST 16363, bioprotective properties, as well as for coloring effect (as agreed with the customer) to wood-based materials.
KMD-O-2 fire-retardant impregnation can be used for fire-retardant treatment of wooden goods and constructions, intended for operation at the facilities of I-V classes of service conditions as per GOST 20022.2, and with additional protection of the treated surfaces with the covering varnishes compatible with it (of XB-784 type), it can be used at the facilities of I-X classes of service conditions.
The preservation period of fire protection efficiency of wood treated with the composition is not less than 5 years.
If necessary to provide the control hue of the treated surface the composition is produced with the dye.
Main parameters and characteristics
Description and purpose
KMD dry fire retardant composition for concrete is designed for making fire-retardant coatings for elements of concrete and reinforced concrete structures in order to increase their fire resistance limits. The composition is a dry bulk mixture containing functional additives.
The composition is used to apply on surfaces that are accessible for inspection and rework, and do not experience direct exposure to climatic factors and chemically aggressive environments. The adhesion strength of the coating to the substrate is at least 0.2MPa.
To increase the adhesion strength to the substrate, KMD Flame Retardant Concrete Plaster must be used together with KMD-O-Contact Adhesion Primer. To reinforce the fireproofing coating formed by the plaster, KMD-O-FINISH impregnation must be used.
Description and purpose
KMD fireproofing composition for cables is a one-component water-based paste-like material containing a polymer binder, modifying additives and fire retardants.
It is intended for fireproofing of cables laid in bundles and cable penetrations for the purpose of their fire protection. It does not propagate combustion.
The fire protection coating produced after treatment with the product creates an insulating foam when exposed to high temperatures, which provides effective fire protection for cable/cable penetrations.
The fire protection coating formed with the composition is intended to be used in unheated and heated spaces.
Cable penetration
Cable penetrations are carried out by inserting electric cables through openings in enclosing structures and filling unoccupied areas of the openings with cushions and, if necessary to achieve a higher fire resistance rating, subsequent painting of the completed penetrations on both sides of the enclosing structures with fire retardant paints.
The cushions and the composition can be used for cable penetrations with fire resistance limit:
Work on the passage of electric cables through the openings in the enclosing structures shall be performed in accordance with the design documentation for the construction site where the work is performed.
Description and purpose:
PTKP fireproof pads are designed for making cable penetrations in places where electric cables are laid through vertical enclosing structures with standardized fire-resistance limits or fire barriers in buildings and constructions. In the case of permanent cable penetrations, additional protection with KMD-O-CABEL is applied.
The cushions are rectangular-shaped sheaths made of silica fabric and filled with heat-expandable filler (vermiculite and intercalated graphite). When exposed to high temperatures, the cushions expand to tightly fill the opening in the enclosing structure, thus ensuring the sealing of the cable penetration during a fire.
Cable penetrations constructed with PTKP pads have the following fire resistance limits:
Pillow dimensions (length x width x height):
Adhesion primer KMD-O-KONTAKT

The strength of adhesion of the primer coating with the base is at least 0.25 MPa.
Recommended consumption of primer (dry mixture) is 0.5 kg/m².
KMD-O-FINISH reinforcing impregnation
Description and purpose
KMD-O-FINISH impregnation is opaque, white, water-based liquid.
It is used to strengthen the fireproofing coating and to reduce the impact of atmospheric factors on it. The impregnation is applied manually or mechanically with a recommended consumption of 0.5 kg/m².
